The difference between a cold dryer and a suction dryer

The difference between a cold dryer and a suction dryer may be a world of difference. As the saying goes, "the difference is a thousand miles away". Please also pay attention to the difference between the two (cold dryer and suction dryer) when purchasing.

1. The refrigerated dryer has no compressed air consumption: most users do not have very high requirements on the dew point of compressed air, and the use of a refrigerated dryer can save energy compared with the use of a suction dryer;

2. There is no valve wear in the cold dryer: the suction dryer has the problem of switching valves. Although there are valves in the cold dryer, there is basically no wear problem;

3. The cold dryer does not need to add or replace the adsorbent regularly;

4. The operation noise of the cold dryer is low; the suction dryer has the noise of the pressure relief of the adsorption tower. In the air compressor room, the running noise of the cold dryer is generally not heard;

5. The daily maintenance of the cold dryer is relatively simple, as long as the automatic drain filter is cleaned on time;

6. The pre-treatment requirements of the air source are not high for the cold dryer, and the general oil-water separator can meet the requirements of the cold dryer for the quality of the intake air;

Compared with the adsorption dryer, the "pressure dew point" of the compressed air treated by the cold dryer can only reach above 0 °C, so the drying depth of the gas is far less than that of the suction dryer.

According to the regeneration method of the adsorbent, there are two types of adsorption dryers.

It can be mainly divided into two types: heatless regeneration adsorption dryer and heat regeneration adsorption dryer. Because the heatless adsorption dryer works according to isothermal adsorption, it is also called "pressure swing adsorption"; the thermal adsorption dryer works according to isobaric adsorption, also known as "temperature swing adsorption". In actual use, there is also a kind of micro-heat dryer. From a formal point of view, the micro-heat regeneration dryer also heats the regeneration gas, but because the regeneration gas it uses is a dryer with a very low water content. air, so it is also a "pressure swing adsorption" dryer.
