What role does the evaporator play in the cold dryer

In a refrigerated air dryer, the evaporator plays a crucial role in removing moisture from the compressed air. The evaporator is a heat exchanger that cools the compressed air to a temperature below its dew point, causing moisture to condense into liquid water.

The compressed air enters the evaporator and passes over the cold surface of the evaporator coils, which are filled with a refrigerant. As the warm, moist air comes into contact with the cold coils, the moisture in the air condenses and collects as liquid water on the surface of the coils.

The liquid water is then removed from the evaporator through a drain valve, leaving the dried compressed air to continue through the rest of the air dryer system.

Therefore, the evaporator is an essential component of the refrigerated air dryer, and it plays a crucial role in removing moisture from the compressed air to ensure that the air is dry and ready for use in various applications.
